Mohammed Rashid Al Suwaidi
Born
in 1963, Mohammed Al-Suwaidi is a national of the United Arab Emirates. He
is the founder and Regional Managing Partner of the firm. He was admitted
in 1986 and is entitled to appear before all courts of the United Arab
Emirates. He received his LLB from Al Ain University and his LLM from
Boston University in 1990. Mohammed contributed to numerous international
courses and seminars as a speaker and participant. He practices oil and
gas, civil and commercial litigation, banking construction & real estate,
information technology, and industrial & intellectual property.
He was the former Head of the Legal Department of Emirates General
Petroleum Corporation, a Federal governmental entity, and is therefore well
acquainted with all aspects of the oil and gas industry and maritime law,
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Head of the
Young Arab Lawyers Committee, Deputy Chairman of the UAE Jurists
Association, the Secretary to the Swiss Business Council and a Member of
the Board of Directors of the Human Rights Association in the UAE. Mr Al
Suwaidi is also a member of the UAE Bar, the International Bar Association
and the American Bar.

Abdulla Farouk Luqman
The
Firm’s Managing Partner in Yemen is Abdullah Farouk Luqman, the grand son
of Mr Mohammed Ali Luqman, the first lawyer in the former South Yemen. Born
in 1969, Abdulla received his BSc, MSc and LLB from the UK. He started his
career with Unilever Arabia Group of Companies in Jeddah. He then joined
Richards Butler International Law Firm in the UK in the fields of Maritime
and Ship Finance. In 1998, he joined Al Tamimi & Company in Dubai as a
legal consultant, where he was responsible for advising and assisting both
local and international clients in their commercial, corporate and maritime
legal affairs.
In 2004 Luqman merged with Al Suwaidi & Company to form Al Suwaidi &
Luqman, the first Yemeni-foreign law firm in Yemen. Abdulla is a member of
the International Bar Association, an associate member of the Royal School
of Science and an active member of the British Adventure Group. He is also
a member of the Jurists association in the United Arab Emirates. He has
published a number of articles and presented in regional seminars, courses
and workshops. Most recently he participated in a legal workshop on
Negotiating and Drafting International Commercial Agreements in Cambridge,
UK.
